My copper jewelry is polished and waxed and made to last a long time.
Things not to do:
- Don’t shower or bathe with it.
- Absolutely no chlorine, no abrasive wipes
Things to do:
- Use a soft cloth to wipe off sweat at the end of day. A mild commercial jewelry cleaner can be used to clean tarnished copper by quickly dipping it in and out of the solution repeatedly.
- Store aware from light in a bag or box when you are not wearing it
Copper will naturally tarnish to a brownish-red color over time, but that is when the benefits to relieving joint pain are received.
I hope you enjoy wearing your copper jewelry!
Hi, I wanted to thank you for showing an interest in my copper jewelry and for featuring the pieces you purchased from Lexi Butler Designs on your Blog.
I wanted to mention something which I forgot to add to the copper care sheet. After you dip the tarnished copper into the “mild” jewelry cleaner repeatedly till its shiny, quickly rinse in water and dry with a soft cloth. However, it is better not to clean it and let the copper to naturally tarnish if you have any kind of joint pain or morning stiffness like myself. I enjoy the benefits of working with copper daily as my hands have become strong enough to easily wire sculpt these 10 Gauge Copper Teardrop Bangles by hand without any shaping tools. Copper is a material that is in everyone’s wall as an electric wire and gets often undervalued and underestimated.
I hope you enjoy wearing copper and get to enjoy its benefits! 🙂
