Original Hardware was born of the philosophy that we can truly live original lives right down to the careers we choose if we just take the leap. The company’s founder and designer, Carrie Schafer, is living proof.
A former journalist-turned global corporate PR executive, Carrie spent years in the high tech industry before she made the leap into pursuing her true passion: a love of stones and metal, of the infinite possibilities that come from them and a love of business.
Carrie’s designs are inspired by the Road Less Traveled, her passion for travel to faraway places and the cultures that call them home. Original Hardware designs feature stones from conflict free areas and ethically sourced materials, reflecting the company’s mission to do right by people and the planet.
The line is entirely made in the USA in Carrie’s Colorado studio with a team of passionate, hardworking (and fun) artisans. Original Hardware can be found in 300+ boutiques across the country and in Sundance, Arhaus and Garnet Hill catalogs.
